Argentinean Lucero Keeps the Tour de San Luis Home

Alfredo Lucero (Argentinean National Team-A) was the winner of the 3rd Tour de San Luis after crossing the last stage's finish line. In a 148-km loop around San Luis, in which J.J. Haedo (Saxo Bank) was the fastest sprinter, came together to the end of that last journey. Lucero took advantage of the time gap he won and after the long breakaway he picked up to the finish line in the third stage of the race, to beat countryman Jorge Giacinti and Colombian José Serpa (Diquigiovanni) in the General Classification.

For FUJI-SERVETTO, the general performance of the team was good. Five of the riders placed among the best in all of the race's stages.  The team’s first appearance of the season was held under strong heat conditions, acting as a fitness builder for most of the riders. This race only had one black spot for the team: the fall by youngster Hector Gonzalez in the race's opener. Gonzalez was pulled from the race and flown to Spain to have his collarbone operated on.

The Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi (February 7th) will be the next competition for the team FUJI-SERVETTO.
