The surprising win, at stage 4 of the UCI 2.HC professional race, did not come at the hands of the Spanish Pro Tour team Fuji-Servetto or the Austrian Pro Continental team Elk Haus, it came by way of a small Continental team out of Malaysia, Le Tua. Indonesian sprinter Samai Amari took the win beating Mattia Gavazzi (Diquigiovanni-Androni) and Nolan Hoffman (South Africa). Gavazzi, the winner of the previous three stages, retains his overall lead in the stage race.

“I think that this is the best day for me in the Tour of Langkawi this year and my career. I've been here for one month training, so I wanted to prove that I'm the best in Asia here. I think I've done that here today," said Samai who prefers to go by just his first name.

The Le Tua team is sponsored by the Malaysian distributor of Fuji bicycles, Gin Huat Cycles.
