VUELTA A ANDALUCÍA: Rebellin sprinted up today’s final hill into the finishing town of Benahavis –where all riders from FUJI-SERVETTO finished  into the main peloton - no changes were made in the GC and the final outcome will come tomorrow at the Queen Stage of the Andalusian race

EVERYTHING IS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE LAST STAGE

Italian Davide Rebellin (Diquigiovanni) grabbed a valuable win at the fourth stage of the 55th Vuelta a Andalucía, at the end of a 162km nasty route from coastal Marbella to Benahavís. Rebellin pulled his way out of reach of 2nd placed Filippo Pozzato (Katusha), while Aussie Cadel Evans was third into a big first group. All seven cyclists from FUJI-SERVETTO came in, with David de la Fuente as a protagonist in a remarkable move in the last slopes of the stage’s finale.

A long 150-km breakaway by Julian Sanchez Pimienta (Contentpolis-Ampo), repeat escaper Luis Angel Mate (Diquigiovanni), Francisco Jose Martinez (Andalucia-CajaSur) and Inigo Landaluze was chased at the 10-km mark, just before the deciding moves were made. The race’s GC was not changed as Joost Posthuma (Rabobank) will face his third day in a row as race leader. The race reaches its conclusion with the Queen Stage of the Andalusian Sun Tour. 165 kilometers of up-and-down from Torrox Costa to Antequera, with five climbs throughout, will decide the race’s final classification, with special attention to the last ascent towards the Torcal (1st. Cat.), only 14 km. to the finish.
